Alexis Christodoulou is creating imaginary architectural spaces
inviting his followers to dive into a dream-like world of pastel
colors and soothing environments. He started his journey as a 3D
artist when he first became interested in rendering. Taking it as
just a hobby, he taught himself 3D rendering through YouTube
tutorials while working as a copywriter in an advertising agency.
Jason Seife
Jason's work references old Persian carpets, an art form that in
modern times is often taken for granted. Carpets were a large part
of his childhood growing up with immigrant parents of Middle
Eastern descent. Jason recreates these old weavings by tediously
painting them on canvas in colors and mediums that were not
normally used in their origin.
A Modern Genesis
"A Modern Genesis : Spring Garden'' is an exploration of found objects
via Digital art. For this collection I wanted to explore something a
bit different from my traditional practice, which is normally rooted
in completely new designs that I have created based on my studies and
inspirations However, for A Modern Genesis I worked based off an
existing Golestan Tabriz carpet. By working directly from an existing
carpet design (found object) I wanted to lean into the idea of
creating anew from something which already existed. The second phase
of this process was to completely 3d sculpt and animate each element
of the found design. Reimagining what the original carpet weavers and
designers may have intended. By recreating this work in 3d I am able
to both literally and conceptually breathe new life into a
pre-existing artwork. The finished piece is a completely Modern
interpretation of an ancient artwork which feels new and exciting but
still true to its original source. The individual frames transport the
viewer through a window into an array of springtime scenes.
Discreet Landscapes is a collection of digitally created artworks
exploring the natural world through an imagined and utopic lens.
Created over a period of 4 years, each scene was imagined purely, and
discreetly from a digital perspective - all the natural elements
created only from memory, intuition, or a digital library. By creating
this contrast to traditional landscape art, the artist has attempted
to reframe the idea of how nature can be represented in a digital
sense.
